About the Speakers
Mary Heie, Import/Export and Compliance Manager at Tennant Company, is a seasoned international trade practitioner with extensive experience in international transportation, documentation, import/export compliance, export licensing, NAFTA, auditing and project management. Mary has broad experience in training, developing and delivering international programs and seminars in various venues including college programs, in-house seminars, conferences, and MWTA and MGTA seminars. She is a licensed customs house broker. She holds an MIM degree from the University of St. Thomas and a Certificate of International Management from AGSIM in Glendale, AZ. She is a past president of World Trade Week and a longtime member and former board member of MGTA.
Larry Matthews is Sr. Global Logistics & Import Regulatory Compliance Manager for Medtronic, Inc. In this role, Larry is responsible for Import Compliance Program development, implementation and drive across the multiple domestic and international business operations, including related Transfer Price adjustments, FDA entry filing, and FTAs. Larry has expansive experience within the international trade industry, having worked with Rollerblade and Polaris Industries more recently. He has been employed by Medtronic for the past 3½ years. Larry has served on the MGTA and MWTA Boards of Directors during several terms in the past. He is a graduate of Southern University, Baton Rouge, LA, with a B.S. degree in Accounting.
Raffaella Morosi is an International Trade Specialist for Polaris Industries, a manufacturer in the automotive industry. Responsible for NAFTA and Australia FTA, she is also identifying opportunities for CAFTA-DR and CHILE-US FTA. Previously, Raffaella worked in Europe at IBM with financial applications and at SC Johnson as a Financial Analyst dealing with VAT tax and fiscal transaction setup. Raffaella holds a Bachelor Degree in Economics from the Università Cattolica in Milan, Italy and Universität Regensburg, Germany. She’ll graduate in May with an MBA in finance from the University of St. Thomas.
Mary Jo Stangl conducts International Market Research Workshops for the Minnesota Trade Office, the state’s official export development arm. A training generalist, with experience developing programming and training for a variety of business and community organizations, she is currently working with subject-matter experts to develop exporter programs and curriculum.
Theresa Walker is Customs Manager for Cargill, Inc., an international provider of food, agricultural and risk management products and services. Prior to joining Cargill’s customs group, Theresa served as Director of International Trade Services at White & Case LLP, an international law firm. Theresa has almost 10 years of experience in dealing with international trade and customs issues.
